Pielisen museo - Pielinen Museum
- is a local museum of the Lieksa district and the second largest open-air museum in Finland. The museum consists of the main building and an extensive outdoor area with more than 70 buildings.
The open-air museum displays farm houses with outbuildings from three centuries, mills, forest workers' log cabins and timber floating history, farm implements and tools, storehouses containing vehicles, boats, fishing tackle and firefighting equipment.

Extensive collection of photos, maps, paintings, handicraft products and other objects related to Finnish soldiers' service at the Rukajärvi front in Russian Karelia.
Rukajärvi Front was the large wilderness area where the commander of the 14th division, general Erkki Raappana and his soldiers fought the Soviet army for three years during the 2nd world war.

The railway in Lieksa is located near the Russian border and that was the reason why the 230 km long road starting from the railway station was the main route for military supplies to Rukajärvi.
